What is Rapid Mode?
Rapid Mode is a condensed view of a project's task list. Instead of tapping into each task one by one to complete it, Rapid Mode lets you see every task in the project at once and close them out right from that list.
Rapid Mode is available for projects only. Since a standalone task isn't part of a larger group of work, there's nothing to condense — Rapid Mode is built for the moments when you have multiple related tasks to get through at once.
Why it's useful
If a project has five, ten, or twenty tasks tied to it, tapping into each one individually adds up fast. Rapid Mode removes that back-and-forth. You can scroll through the full list, complete each task's requirement inline, and move on to the next — all without returning to the project's main page in between.
How it works
When you open a project in Rapid Mode, you'll see a list of every task in the project, showing its category, location, and a quick description. Next to each task is an icon showing what's needed to close it out, and whether it's already been completed. If the project has tasks organized into sections, you can expand or collapse each group as needed.
To complete a task, tap its icon directly in the list. What happens next depends on the type of task:
Checkmark: Tap to mark the task complete. Tap again to reopen it.
Photo: Tap to open your camera and take a picture. The photo is saved to the task automatically.
Rating: Tap to select a rating (like Good/Fair/Poor). Some ratings also carry a score, which adds up at the bottom of your screen as you go — useful for inspections where an overall score matters.
Signature: Tap to capture a signature on the spot.
Note: Tap to type a written note.
Form: Tap to fill out the required form.
Audio or video: Tap to record the required clip.
Each icon updates once the task is complete, so you can see your progress across the whole list at a glance.
Ratings with extra documentation
Some ratings require more than just the rating itself. Depending on how the rating is set up, selecting it may prompt you for an additional photo, note, or cost entry — for example, a "Poor" rating might require a photo and a cost estimate, while a "Good" rating might not require anything extra. These additional requirements appear as extra icons right below the rating once it's selected.
When a selection is required first
Occasionally, a task can't be closed until something else is selected first — like a subcategory, a resident, or a resource you need to review. In these cases, a different icon will appear in place of the usual closing icon. Tapping it will walk you through that selection, and once it's done, the normal closing icon will take its place so you can finish the task.
Comparing to prior work
For projects set up to track history — like recurring inspections — Rapid Mode can show you prior documentation from a previous instance of the same project, so you can compare current conditions to what was recorded before. If this is enabled for a project, you'll see a prompt letting you select which past project to compare against.
Helpful shortcuts
Search and filter: Use the search bar to jump to specific tasks, or filter the list to show only what's still open.
Bulk ratings: If several tasks need the same rating, press and hold on a rating to apply it across a whole group, all open tasks, or everything in the project at once — instead of rating each one individually.
Reopening a task
If you need to redo something, press and hold on a completed task's icon to reopen it. For most task types, reopening will remove what was previously recorded (a photo, signature, rating, etc.), so you'll see a warning first to confirm you want to proceed. Checkmark tasks are the exception — since there's nothing to lose, they can be reopened without a warning.
Any time a task is reopened or edited, it's logged to the project's activity feed with your name and the time it happened, so there's always a record of what changed.
Closing out the project
As you work through the list, you'll see a running count of tasks left to complete at the bottom of your screen. Once everything is done, that same area gives you the option to close out the project as a whole.
Getting into Rapid Mode
Depending on how a project was set up, Rapid Mode may open automatically, or you may need to select it manually from the project's details page. This default behavior is controlled at the template level — the "recipe" used to create the project — so you may notice some projects open directly into Rapid Mode while others don't. Either way, you can always switch between Rapid Mode and the standard project details view using the icon at the top of the screen.
