Entrata | SMRT Operations Manager Integration Guide

For our partners using Entrata, here is our guide to set up your integration.

With Entrata Integration, SMRT Operations Manager will be pulling Resident and Unit Information from Entrata, and importing it into SMRT Operations Manager. This pull of information will happen each day at midnight, and resident changes made in Entrata will be reflected automatically in SMRT Operations Manager within 24 hours. In addition to the pull of information from Entrata, we will also be exporting resident work order information back into Entrata. Moving forward, all resident-reported tasks created in SightPlan (i.e. from the SMRT Operations Manager Resident Portal, Answering Service, etc.) will be imported into SMRT Operations Manager. You can then manage your resident tasks in SMRT Operations Manager, per usual, and once it is completed in SMRT Operations Manager, it would then be exported back into Entrata. Itโ€™s important to note that all tasks need to be managed within SMRT Operations Manager, and the results will be exported back into Entrata.

By enabling this integration, the management of residents in SMRT Operations Manager is going to be limited, and any changes to contact information, or the ability to add residents, will need to be done in Entrata.


To initiate the integration, the client will need to contact Entrata (either their CSM or Entrata support) and request that API credentials be provided for SmartRent. Entrata will provide those credentials back to the client who can get them to SmartRent.

To complete the Entrata integration, there are a few steps which we have listed below:


1. Reach out to your Entrata Account Manager or Entrata Support to request the following API credentials be provided to SmartRent Integration for your site/organization.

  1. Property ID:

  2. Interface Username:

  3. Password:

  4. API URL:
    ex: location-name-propertyid.entrata.com/api

2. That's it! These credentials may then be sent over to the Onboarding/Implementation Teams or to the SMRT Operations Manager Help Team, referencing the Organization and Site that they would like to enable. With that, the Implementation Team will be able to complete the integration and update the site team once it is completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What tasks are exported to Entrata?

    • SMRT Operations Manager will export all tasks in the Maintenance/Service Request Work Spaces back to Entrata. Make Ready projects will not be exported as they are not within the included workspaces.

  • Can I close work orders in Entrata?

    • No. Currently, we do not support the ability for work orders to be completed in Entrata, and then be updated in SMRT Operations Manager. Work orders will need to be completed in SMRT Operations Manager, which in turn will update in Entrata within 5 minutes.

  • Can I update the Resident's phone numbers in SMRT Operations Manager?

    • No. With the integration in place, by default, we will be updating resident information from Entrata every 24 hours. If you need to update more frequently, you will have that option in the setup or, in the Resident Section, you can select the blue refresh button in the top right-hand corner.
